Here in New Hampshire, the appointment of Senator Gregg as Commerce Secretary has political circles abuzz. New York, umm New Hampshire liberal, Paul Hodes has already announced he is running for Senate. Congresswoman Carol Shea Porter (D-Mars) is also considering a run.An open Senate seat and possibly two open Congressional seats could make this a busy state next election. It could also mean the return of Congressman Charlie Bass who is considering a run for the Senate seat, his old house seat, or governor.
However, many Republicans feel they got rolled with the appointment and this article by Stuart Rothenberg summarizes the feelings of many Republicans in the state. Many thanks to my friend and Romney leader Jim Merrill for passing along this article.
